Huisman Flowers provides local same day and express flower delivery service to Hope College.  Our firm is also known as Eastern Floral Lakeshore. We added Huisman Flowers to our brand in 2021. We still operate our two Eastern Floral Lakeshore flower shops. Both are open to the public and available to in-store shopping.

We have been delivering to Hope College in Holland, Michigan for many years. The address for Hope College is 643 S Waverly Rd, Holland, MI 49423. The main phone number for the Holland Campus is (616) 395-4600. The University normally accepts flower deliveries Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Hope College established their Holland Campus in 1989. They started as a pretty small campus, then expanded to a 10-acre property in 1992. This campus offers an extensive array of business programs. Students from all across the area travel to Holland to attend this great school. Hope College is a private Christian liberal arts college. The campus opened in approximately 1851. Hope College received its state charter in 1866

The “Petal It Forward” event this year happens on Wednesday, October 19th. Huisman Flowers and community volunteers will be handing out floral bouquets on the streets of Holland and Grand Haven. The goal is to bring joy into the recipient’s day and give them the opportunity to “Petal It Forward” by giving one of their two bouquets to another person. Science has proven that flowers reduce stress and anxiety and make people happy! Petal It Forward is a powerful way to send positive vibes in the giving and receiving of flowers. Hope College is one location where students will receive bouquets.

In addition, Huisman Flowers will host a floral design class at their Holland location where the feature design will be Fall Flowers. This is all centered around Petal It Forward and Customer Appreciation for our two-year Anniversary. On Friday & Saturday (Oct. 21st, 22nd) AND Sat. the 22nd they are also having a design class starting at 10am at our Holland location. Cost: $50 and there will be limited spots available.   • Grape hyacinth – Another of the great plants for a pot, these have small bright blue flowers. They do have a tendency to spread easily so occasional thinning may be needed.
  • Bearded iris – Defined by their ruffs and falls which are the outer and inner petals, the hair looking growth in the center gives them the nickname, bearded Iris.
  • Alliums – These make for fabulous cut flowers in flower bouquets and arrangements. They have fantastic globe shaped purple flowers. Some people also like to keep them for dried flower arrangements as well as fresh.

Substitution Policy

Fresh flowers are a perishable product. We purchase many of the flowers we sell direct from flower farms. Some of the floral varieties we utilize in our designs are seasonal. At times, we may be unable to source all of the flowers we have featured on our website. In those rare cases, we may substitute alternative blooms of equal beauty and value, for the blooms that may be out of stock at that moment. It is rare, but at times it does happen.

As mentioned earlier, we are dealing with a fresh product. Many variables may affect the condition of your arrangement. Depending on the type and variety of flower, you can expect cut stems to look beautiful for 5 to 7 days.
