Many had to shut down farms due to quarantine requirements. This in turn resulted in laying off many workers and destroying tons of flowers. Breaking it down further to real numbers, the National Association of Wholesale Distributors reported that there were 5.64 million employed in the US floral industry at the end of December 2020. There are many protests that have blocked major transportation routes. Numerous flower farms are unable or finding it difficult to transport their flowers to shippers.

The Huisman family has been part of the Eastern Floral organization for more than 60 years. This year, we begin an exciting new chapter in our journey. We will be updating our brand to Huisman Flowers, a division of Eastern Floral Lakeshore. Our new brand will maintain and continue the long standing tradition at Eastern Floral Lakeshore of providing the great floral products, same day delivery, affordable pricing and incredible customer service. Adding Huisman Flowers to our brand will allow us to introduce to the world to the family who has stood behind the Eastern Floral Lakeshore name for all those years.

We continue to operate two beautiful flower shops in the Lake Michigan Lakeshore area. Many of you have shopped with us at these two floral design centers over the years.
